Amika Starr (they/them) is an MA student in the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Ohio State University. Their research puts into conversation queer studies, specifically asexuality and aromanticism studies, and Asian American diasporic studies, specifically Thai American studies. Using an interdisciplinary approach, they look for cultural productions and moments where the seemingly disparate objects of asexuality and Thai-Americaness touch, and what these convergences teach us about these fields.
They are also interested in critical disability and crip theory and manga studies.
